The Division of Academic Affairs is responsible for providing comprehensive, high-quality educational opportunities that are responsive to community needs and meet the intellectual, personal and professional needs of a diverse student body.

The College provides a full range of degree and certificate programs that respond to the transfer, career, and lifelong learning educational needs of the citizens of Northern Worcester County. Further, many of our courses are offered online which provides a student the opportunity to complete a degree at his/her convenience.

The Division of Academic Affairs office supports a fully accredited Honors Program, International Education and Civic Engagement/Service Learning opportunities. The office works with our highly competent faculty in establishing outcome measurements of each of the curricula offered by the College.

The Division of Academic Affairs also provides faculty with professional development activities that include funds for travel to conferences, subscriptions, and memberships to national professional organizations; national speakers who visit the campus; consultants to assist with curriculum and planning, etc.

Each student at MWCC is assigned an academic advisor to assist with academic planning, resource access, and course registration. Some students are assigned to specialized academic advising based on specific needs such as our Success Advising team or the TRIO Rx and Vision programs. These advising teams often provide more in-depth support, which can further aid students in their academic success.

Academic advisors are here to help guide you through your degree or certificate-seeking program at MWCC, whether you are enrolled in credit-bearing courses on campus or online. Our advisors are dedicated to helping you achieve your educational goals.

The purpose of this club shall be to form a group of MWCC students who work together to foster cultural exchange between students and to raise awareness through programs and activities for the college community. The club shall support the holistic development of ALANA (Asian, Latino(a), African American, and Native American) and Bi/Multiracial students so that as confident students of color they attain their goals for academic achievement, personal growth and cultural development.

To be inducted into Alpha Beta Gamma International Business Honor Society, a student must: be enrolled in a business curriculum in a junior, community, or technical college, or a two-year accredited program within in a college or university; have completed 15 credit hours with at least 12 hours of his/her work taken in courses leading to a degree recognized by his/her institution; and must have demonstrated academic excellence by attaining a 3.0 GPA or its equivalent in business courses as well as well as a 3.0 overall average.

The Art Club is a student run organization, that creates a community for those interested in the arts. The Club often takes trips to museums, galleries, sculptures parks, visits universities & colleges and attends other art events. Club members collaborate on simple fundraisers to cover most expenses for the annual NYC trip or tickets to museum exhibits, etc. Past members have orchestrated online virtual Artist Talks, demos, panel discussions, and other events when we were unable to meet in-person. All are welcome. Art majors are strongly encouraged to participate. CATS develops, organizes, and implements programs which serve the cultural, educational, recreational, and social interests of the student body and the MWCC college community. Members participate in hands on planning and production for events such as the Fall Welcome Back Fest, Spring Fling, and the annual New York City Trip. Several members may be selected to represent the club at the various Student Activities conferences.

Welcome to the Mount Wachusett Community College Police and Public Safety Department website. The MWCC Campus Police and Public Safety Department consists of nine very dedicated, professional law enforcement officers who are committed to providing a safe educational environment for students, staff, faculty and visitors. The Campus Police and Public Safety Department is dedicated to the Community Policing Philosophy; providing pro-active service through inter-departmental and inter-agency collaboration to meet the ever-changing needs of the college community. We welcome input from the college community regarding security issues, needs, and concerns and pledge to work as partners with the college community to provide quality service.

MWCC Police Officers and Security Officers are available for security escorts and for legal and personal advice, within the scope of their expertise. We work closely with the MWCC counselors and student services to ensure that the legal, physical, and emotional needs of the community are met.

Delta Alpha Pi (DAPi) is an honor society founded to recognize students with disabilities for their academic achievements and leadership skills. Members will assist in promoting disability awareness and pride at MWCC by helping coordinate and participating in fun virtual and on-campus activities. Members also serve as mentors and role models for other students and are provided with opportunities to showcase their strengths. To be eligible for membership a student must: present with a documented disability and work with one of the staff members of the Disability Services team: demonstrate an interest in disability issues; completed a minimum of 24 college level credits; earned an overall GPA of 3.10.

The Student Financial Services team at Mount Wachusett Community College understands that financing your college education is often the most demanding part of the process. Comprised of both Financial Aid and Student Accounts, Student Financial Services is here to help you navigate the way. We offer a comprehensive program that makes the most of the federal, state, and institutional monies available to you. Our team is committed to assisting you and your family in finding the financial means to achieve an affordable education here at The Mount.

The Student Financial Services team will try, to the extent possible, to award grant funds (funds that do not have to be repaid) to cover tuition, fees, and book expenses. Applying for financial aid early in the year is crucial to receive the maximum aid possible. Since the college does not have sufficient funds to assist everyone, many students find it necessary to obtain a student loan to meet the required costs.

We are here to help you manage your college costs and payments and are committed to working with you to make paying for college easier. You will find we highly encourage accessing the maximum amount of resources as early as possible in your college career so that you can be in the best position to pay for your college expenses.

Greater Gardner for Good is a student volunteer organization that hosts fundraising events like raffles and supply drives to raise money for those in need within the Gardner community so that we can make Gardner greater. We are a non-profit group that uses funds collected from events and unopened acceptable items from supply drives to create care baskets to be distributed to those in need, various local homeless shelters and support organizations. We are focused on providing access to personal care items, school supplies, health and hygiene items, and clothing to aid members of our community who are struggling with housing insecurity or financial issues. GGFG also prioritizes awareness and education, as members will learn the main causes of housing insecurity/financial issues, the significance and impact of homelessness and financial problems as a whole and in our community specifically, and ways to help. Our goal is to make Gardner greater, and we would love for you to join us in achieving our goal.

Parent Support Group (PSG)

Mission: We, the Parent Support Group, are committed to supporting our fellow students throughout their academic journey at MWCC. We acknowledge that being a parent is both rewarding and challenging, and being a student parent, is an even greater test. In our club we work together to assist you and our community at large.

The Parent Support Group is a club open to all MWCC students, but especially students who are parents. The club meets regularly both in person and virtually. We host two main events each year; the annual Toy Drive/Fair, and the Dress for Success Event. To request to join the club or to get more information, please visit InvolveMOUNT.

Family Resource Center (FRC) - A place for Student Parents to gather and study

The Family Resource Center is located in room H360 on the third floor of the Gardner campus. This room is designed for student parents to gather with or without their children. The room has a designated study space with computers, an area to relax and meet peers, and a place for children to play. Children must be supervised by the student parent or a responsible fellow student at all times.

Child Watch

The Family Resource Center is also home to our “Child Watch” program. Child Watch is a supervised place where registered and eligible students can safely leave their child(ren) with our work study staff for 2- 3 hours, while they attend class, study, meet with their advisor, or receive tutoring. The student-parent must remain on campus and accessible via cell phone while their child is in the Child Watch at all times, and return to the Child Watch if they are needed. Eligible student-parents can register through the CCAMPIS Office areynolds1@mwcc.mass.edu for this service that is offered at limited times throughout semesters.

Lactation Room

MWCC recognizes the importance and benefits of breastfeeding student parents and their infants. The lactation room is located in H363 on the third floor of the Gardner campus opposite the Family Resource Center. This room is available to any MWCC affiliated nursing parent, student, faculty, staff, visitor, and breastfeeding spouse/partner.

To obtain a key for this room, please see Student Services Room H128 or, after 4pm, contact Campus Police, room H062.

The Student Government Association is an elected group of students who represent students’ interests to the College’s administration. The SGA assists in planning campus programming and in allocating funding to the student clubs and organizations on campus. The requirements for eligibility to run for a SGA position include being in good academic standing (minimum 2.0 GPA), and being enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits. Elections for SGA positions are held in September and April.

Study abroad is the term given to a program that allows a student to attend classes, intern, or participate in service to the community while living in a foreign country, or participating in a virtual platform. Our programs maintain the ethic of “open access to education” that is at the center of everything we do at MWCC. Every study abroad program at MWCC is open to all members of the community in good academic and disciplinary standing and at least 18 years of age.

Students who study abroad have the opportunity to experience a new culture, enhance their language skills, and gain a broader understanding of our world, all while satisfying requirements for graduation, in any major. Once you have earned your Associate degree from MWCC, we encourage you to consider transferring to earn your Bachelor’s degree. If you are not sure where you may like to go, we regularly have admissions counselors from four-year colleges and universities visit our Gardner campus to provide you with information about transfer admission and academic options.

The purpose of this club shall be to form a group of students with a common interest in the general welfare of Mount Wachusett Community College with a special emphasis on students that are veterans and veterans in the surrounding communities. All Supporters of the veterans community are welcome! You do not have to be a veteran to join.
